Trek Boyland

Trey BoylandA native of Texas, Trek Boyland has earned degrees from Stephen F. Austin University (BME) and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (MM). As a concert saxophonist, Trek Boyland is an active performer, giving recitals and master classes throughout North America and, most recently, Toronto and Matamoros. Operating on international stages, Trek has participated in the 43rd Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium, World Saxophone Congress XIX, and the 41st Performing Arts Medical Association Conference.

Seeking to extend the bounds of saxophone pedagogy and performance, Trek Boyland is a passionate performer and music educator who emphasizes the art of storytelling through expression, artistry, and musicianship. As an active chamber musician, Trek holds the tenor chair in the Lotus Saxophone Quartet, who seeks to disseminate compelling repertoire at the highest level. Additionally, Trek recorded two albums, Respair and Closure, as the principal saxophonist with the 2021-2022 UNT Wind Symphony.

Trek’s vision for students revolves around developing a unique voice that is equally defining and authentic. He is dedicated to nurturing creativity, musical artistry, friendship, safety, and innovation while cultivating essential life skills. Through actively exploring diverse repertoire selections, ensemble configurations, and educational resources, Trek aims to build confidence and self- assurance in students, empowering them to pursue their passions with conviction and resilience.
